Snowmageddon - North Texas Style

After the boys being home sick for 3 days, I was looking forward to getting back into our routine, but alas, it wasn't meant to be!  This is the most snow I've ever seen accumulated here and I've lived in North Central Texas my entire life.

Here are some pics taken before noon and an hour later, it is still coming down strong.

More pictures from much later in the day:

And snow ice cream!!!

  1. The snow is so beautiful, as long as you don't have to drive anywhere! I hope you are managing to stay in and keep warm in all that snow.
    Have a great weekend,

  2. Your pictures are beautiful! I live in NE Louisiana and I can't remember the last snow we've had. I'm not much of a snow person, so glad that it's disappearing quickly. Happy Valentine's week-end!

  3. My goodness...my hubby and I were just talking abt Texas getting snow...and I said'what do they do...they probably don't have any snowplows'! When I mentioned Texas in my blog post I was thinking of my very favourite place...the Riverwalk of San Antonio...I really don't know how far 'south' it is. :0)

  4. We've been battling runny noses and sore throat over here, but no snow. We have family and friends in DC, and it is crazy over there with the snow. I'm glad you made good use of the snow. =) Enjoy it if you like getting out there in the cold. It's quite a sight to behold either way.

  5. I'm not into cold stuff, but this really has been pretty. Nope, no snow plows, but when this happens about once every 50 years or so, no need for them LOL. Actually, our streets cleared fairly quickly.

San Antonio is about 4 hours south of me. It holds a special place in my heart because it's where DH and I got married and honeymooned.

  6. I am loving the snow. I've taken a ton of pictures too and the kids have had a great time with it. When we got home tonight, my youngest son was trying to scoop some snow from one of the small clumps left so he could make one last snowball to throw at his brother. LOL

  7. Love the snow pictures. No snow for us here in North FL! Although 20 mins away in Lower AL they got some. Oh well.

Snow Ice cream- recipe for that?
