The boys, Isaiah, Revelation and what's that smell???

Monday was the first day of school in our town.  My oldest is in 4th grade.  I can't believe that!!  My youngest started kindergarten - that's even more difficult to believe!

I love this picture.  I love how they are leaning into each other.  I hope they always lean on each other when they need to.

I'm a day or two behind in my Bible-in-90-days reading program, but I can get caught up this weekend.  I'm halfway through Isaiah.  I love the last two verses of chapter 19 - how God redeems not only Israel, but Israel's enemies.  Just absolutely love it.  I start my precept class on the 2nd half of Isaiah in the next week or two (I really need to check on that).

We wrapped up part 3 of 4 of our Revelation precept on Wednesday.  I can't wait to dig into part 4!!!  I feel like I have a decent grasp of the timeline of events.  Now I can't wait to work through prophecy in other books of the Bible.  Yea!

As for the smell - it's a good one!  I became an Independent Scentsy Consultant.  They are safe alternatives to candles (no wicks, no flames, no fuss).  I used to be a consultant for another direct sales company - even did pretty well with it (earned a trip to the Bahamas).  But it just wasn't my thing.  I never thought I'd go with another direct sales company.  I've been using Scentsy products for a while and really love the smell.  And I love the affordability.  You can indulge without feeling guilty.  I love that the home parties are very simple and no pressure at all.  So I'm going to give it a shot!  I'm really excited!

I hope everyone has a lovely Friday.  I've missed doing the Friday Company Girl Coffees :)

  1. Revelation is challenging, but worth working through. I taught a group through MacArthur's twelve week study - enough depth for understanding, but not so much we were in it for years and going nuts.

You go, girl, on that 90-day read through! Are you going cover-to-cover, or taking a chronological read? I think I'm going back to another read-through for 2011 - a single chapter a day has left me wanting.

  2. Good for you! I am going through a chronological Read in a year program and I am loving it! I am about to finish Jeremiah, but skip around some because it is not cover to cover!

My MIL and SIL have a Scentsy product and love it! Good luck with being a consultant!

  3. Happy back-to-school! Love the pic of the boys. That's great. I hope my girls will grow up to be each other's best friends like my siblings and I are.

Good luck with the business. I've never heard of Scentsy before. Neat!

  4. What a week! Your boys are so cute on their first day. Were YOU more excited, or were they? :) Well, you know I'm a big fan of boys.....big ones and little ones.

I've thought about doing the 90 day challenge.....but I've been hesitant. Through the Bible in a year is more doable for me, but I think I'd like the immersion. Hmmm - next time I may try it.....

  5. Your boys are so precious and handsome! They do grow up quickly don't they? My only son is 13 has man feet and looks more and more like a man every day. His voice hasn't changed yet though.

Good luck with your Scentsy business! I also have my own direct sales business and I love it. I love being able to work around my family's schedule. I've not ever used a Scentsy product. Sounds great.

    Have a blessed week!

  6. The 90-day challenge is cover to cover, not chronological. I'm a little behind right now, but should be caught up in a day or so. Rachel Anne - go for it! It's been a huge blessing in my life.

The boys were excited about school starting. I'll be excited when I get going on subbing for the district. I do everything I can to encourage the strongest bond possible between them.

Thanks for the well wishes on the business. I love the warmers (and that there is no flame) and the fragrances are so nice. There are 3 different sizes of warmers, including a plug-in. They use a low-watt light bulb to melt the wax. So if you want to leave it on, there's no risk of fire. I have friends that use it as a nightlight.

LydiaCate - what do you do?

  7. I would love to do the 90 challenge. I know that I have gaps in my knowledge and that God could teach me a lot.

My youngest starts Kindergarten next year and although I will be glad to have more dedicated time to work, I'll miss her so!

  9. Yes, Scentsy is in Canada. Check out www.scentsy.net and you should be able to locate a consultant through that site.

  10. Hi there! Thanks for your note! It's inspiring to hear from women like you who dove into the 90-day challenge. I still want to read the New Testament in the next 30 days. Time to get serious...
