Out of Sorts

Hello Company Girls!  It's nice to have coffee with friends :)  In fact, last school year, I met a friend every Tuesday (or most of them) for a drink at Starbucks after the kids were dropped off.  Those visits were so nice.  We won't be able to do them regularly this year because I'm going to sub, but we are going to get together as often as we can.  We met Tuesday and it was still early enough that it wasn't hot yet.  So we sat outside...for 3 hours.  For this fair-skinned lass, that spells sunburn.  But that sunburn was worth it to visit with not 1, but 2 friends.  Another friend showed up.  The cool thing is that it seems as if we were an answer to prayer for her.  She had asked God for some friends to visit with.  And there we were!  I love being an answer to prayer!  And we had such a sweet visit.

I don't know why, but I am feeling out of sorts.  I have since Monday, which was my birthday.  My birthday itself was fine.  I launched my Scentsy business that evening with an open house (didn't mention my bday to anyone).  A dear friend brought me cake.  She had emailed people behind my back to get them to come, but so many people are sick right now.  The launch party was good and I felt extra special with my cake.

School is in full swing and the routine is nice.  I went to the Volunteer Registration breakfast.  Even if I sub, I should have time to volunteer at the school.  I met the mother of another boy in my younger son's kindergarten class.  Very nice lady.

So why do I feel out of sorts?  I feel like we are on the verge of something.  In a way, I feel sad.  So I guess all I can do right now is to pray and wait for God to reveal what He wants in His time.

Until then, I'm going to count my blessings, for I am richly blessed with friends, family, my church family and so much more!

Oh and here's a older son was disappointed at church Wednesday night because he grabbed a chocolate chip cookie instead of a raisin one LOL  That kid cracks me up!

  1. Happy belated birthday! Isn't it funny how when we think we may be on the verge of change, we mourn a little bit for the way things were? Even when we know the change is God's great plan for us, or is something we've planned for ourselves, letting go of the old can be a little disconcerting.

  2. I hate feeling "off." I know what you mean. I pray for rest and time with Jesus, that He may speak quietly to your heart. Knowing He may not give you answers, but He surely can give you love and the faith to trust in Him.

  3. It's always a little disconcerting when anticipating change...we're forced to give up some of our security and I'm sure that's what makes us feel out of sorts....nobody likes having their security shifted....but as Jen said in the previous comment...that's when we shift our focus back where it needs to the One that never changes...sometimes easier said than done, I'll admit!

  4. I love Scentsy and have a lot of it and give a lot of it. Good luck in your endeavor!

I've felt off all day today. Just a bit out of sorts. I'm just letting somethings rub on me a bit and have got to let them go and let God.

    Have a super wonderful week-end!

  5. Have a great weekend. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Happy Belated Birthday!! I know that "out of sorts" feeling... have had it for a while now myself. In HIS time all will be revealed.

  6. I'm glad you were an answer to a prayer. That would be so nice to be able to get together weekly with a friend. I am the same way with the sun and sunburns. Boo!

I wonder what God has in store for you.

    Happy belated birthday!

  7. I agree with Dianne and Jen above.
I've been feeling the same lately and it's true, it's because things are changing but I realised, as Secondofwett says, that there is only One who never changes and we must turn to God in changing times. I'm so glad to have *re*found the company girls, it's just the place I need to be now - with people who understand what I'm going through and can encourage each other.
    God bless you all.

  8. I thank God for this group of ladies :)

It is nice to rest in His constancy.

  9. Thanks for stopping by! I SO hear you with feeling on the edge of something new with God! Have a great weekend

  10. I've heard it said many times...Don't get comfortable because that's just about the time the Lord decides to mix things up. Fortunately we can always be sure He will never allow anything to touch us that He doesn't have plans for. Jeremiah of my fav's.
    Have a blessed weekend!
